Born in Madrid, he studied music at the Real Conservatorio de Música and voice at the Escuela Superior de Canto (MAD) where he graduated.


He studied at Hochschule Mozarteum in Salzburg  and at the Accademia Chigiana of Siena, with famous bariton Gerard Souzay.

 

Awarded at International Singing Competitions "Francisco Alonso" (Spain), and "Ville de Marmande”  (France) where he received  the “Audience  Prize" and " Special Prize”  President of the France Chamber Opera Houses ".


He has a  national and international career, with an important Opera Houses such as, Teatro alla Scala,  Washington National Opera, Opera di Roma, Theater an der Wien, Los Angeles Opera,  Opera de Laussane, Teatro Mayor de Bogotá, Rizon Festival Tel-Aviv, Teatro Real, Palau de la Musica, Auditorio Nacional de Música, Teatro Arriaga de Bilbao,  Teatro Euskalduna de Bilbao, Kursaal de San Sebastián,  Teatro Gayarre de Pamplona, Baluarte de Pamplona, Teatro Municipal de Santiago, Teatro Lírico Nacional de la Zarzuela.

 

He has performed with pretigious conductors such as Plácido Domingo, Jesús López Cobos, Rinaldo Alessandrini, E. Boncompagni, Miguel Roa, Marc Tardue, Giorgio Croci, Daniel Lipton, Eugène Kohn, Miquel Ortega, Ros Marbá, José Ramón Encinar, Ivo Cruz., and prestigious directors such as, Ron Daniels, Emilio Sagi, Lucca Ronconi, John Cox, John Dew, Nacho García, Narros o Jaume Martorell. He sang the greats bariton roles of International and Spanish repertoire such as: Don Carlo, Il Postino, Tosca, Lucrezia Borgia, L’elisir d’amore, Andrea Chènier Traviata, Carmen, Bohème, Cenerentola, Zaide, Orfeo, Jugar con Fuego, La del Soto del Parral, La del Manojo de Rosas, Los Gavilanes, La Rosa del Azafrán, El Dominó Azul, La Calesera, La Tabernera del Puerto, Pan y Toros, La Parranda, Katiuska, La Verbena de la Paloma, La Canción del Olvido,  Luisa Fernanda, Marina, La Dolores, El Gato Montés, Don Gil de Alcalá, Gernika, Pepita Jiménez. Also renowned at the concert repertoire he has played, “Réquiem” (Fauré), “ Canticum in P.P. Johannes XXIII” (E. Halffter)“Carmina Burana” (Orff), “Ninth Symphony”  (Beethoven), “Stabat Mater” (K. Szymanowski) “Miserere” (H.Eslava).


Currently in addition to his professional commitments, he is Professor at the Royal High Conservatory of Music of Madrid.
